Quality Manager at Unity Aluminum

Kristin Derscha is a seasoned metallurgical and quality professional with 23 years of metallurgical and quality management experience.

As the Director of Quality Management for Unity Aluminum, Kristin is responsible for the strategic direction of the Quality Management System, implementation of internal and external standards, and assuring customer satisfaction in aspects of Unity’s business.

She began her career as a metallurgical engineer in 1997 with Alcoa in Davenport, IA as a process metallurgist working on aluminum heat treated aerospace products. She has also worked in the industry as a Metallurgical engineer for Norandal (now Granges) in Salisbury, NC, producing aluminum foil and light building products, and as a Quality Engineer and Metallurgist for Eaton in Roxboro, NC working on steel automotive valve train components. She returned to Alcoa (now Arconic) in 2010 to work as a Quality Systems engineer.

Prior to joining Unity Aluminum, Kristin served as Lead Quality Systems Engineer for Arconic, a publicly traded company specializing in lightweight metals engineering and manufacturing. While serving in that role, she was responsible for Quality Management Systems information across multiple locations in the Global Rolled Products division.

Kristin holds a B.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
