J. Luis Calderón, MPH, currently serves as the Community Health Program Coordinator at UnityPoint Health, focusing on community benefit, outreach, and health improvement initiatives. With experience in education as a Substitute Teacher for East Moline School District #37, J. Luis previously worked as a Disease Intervention Specialist at the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, managing STI interventions and investigations. Prior roles include facilitating health equity training, conducting research as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Iowa, and overseeing health services for a federally funded Head Start program at Project NOW INC. J. Luis holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Northern Illinois University, complemented by studies in Costa Rica and an Associate degree from Black Hawk College.
