Roman Y. Korotkov is a highly experienced professional in materials science and engineering, currently serving as a Principal Technologist and Senior Research Scientist at Universal Display Corporation since July 2018, focusing on 4k and 8k MEMS print head technology and organic vapor jet printing for large area displays. Previously, Roman Y. Korotkov worked at Arkema from October 2001 to June 2018 as a research scientist in corporate research, specializing in the deposition and characterization of inorganic and polymer thin films and developing transparent, conductive, and flexible substrates for dye-sensitized solar cells. Early career experience includes engineering at Lucent Technologies, where development of a planar 40Gb InGaAs/InGaAsP/InP PIN and vertical APD took place, and an internship at Seagate Technology, focused on novel thin film materials for spin valve sensors. Roman Y. Korotkov holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Mendeleev Institute of Chemical Technology in Moscow, and additional education from Bowling Green State University.
