Verena Plath is a highly experienced museum curator and cultural scholar with a focus on empirical cultural studies and museum collections. Currently serving as Sammlungskuratorin at Universalmuseum Joanneum since June 2023, Verena previously worked as a Wissenschaftliche Volontärin at Landesmuseum Württemberg from November 2020 to October 2022. Earlier roles include Freie Mitarbeiterin in museum education and supervision at Kunstmuseum Reutlingen Spendhaus, and in guided tours at Gedenkstätte Buchenwald. Verena has also gained practical experience through internships at Gedenkstätte Andreasstraße and Spendhaus, as well as volunteering at Behinderteneinrichtung Pericles. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Empirische Kulturwissenschaft with a focus on Museum und Sammlung from the University of Tübingen and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Volkskunde/Kulturgeschichte and Geschichte from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, complemented by studies at Université Savoie Mont Blanc.
