Rafael Heiber

Rafael Heiber is an accomplished academic and professional with extensive experience in social sciences and urban studies. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at Charles III University of Madrid since September 2024, Rafael has also been the Executive Director and Co-founder of Common Action Forum since January 2015, which connects experts from various fields in an international non-profit context. With a history of editorial leadership as the Editor in Chief of Metapolis Magazine since January 2020, Rafael has contributed to prominent venues including The Huffington Post. Rafael's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, alongside multiple master's degrees in Social Theory, Urban Planning, and Human Geography. A member of Cibersomosaguas UCM Research Group, Rafael's research interests encompass new technologies, automobility, and emancipatory processes in social sciences.
