Antonio Mas

Vicerrector De Política Científica at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha

Antonio Mas is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in microbiology and virology. Currently serving as Vicerrector de Política Científica and Associate Professor at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha since May 2011, Antonio oversees the Microbiology department and teaches in Medicine and Pharmacy programs. Previously, Antonio directed the Centro Regional de Investigaciones Biomédicas from February 2017 to January 2021 and was a Ramón y Cajal researcher at Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha from January 2006 to April 2011, where a new line of research on hepatitis C virus RNA polymerase was initiated. Antonio also contributed to the field as an Assistant Professor at Universidad Pompeu Fabra and conducted postdoctoral research on HIV at CBM-CSIC. Antonio holds a Doctorate in Biology and has degrees in Biological Sciences with a specialization in Microbiology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
