Roberto Fernández

Professor of Modern History, specialized in Catalonia in the 18th century.

He was director of the Institute of Educational Sciences of the Estudi General de Lleida. He dean of the Faculty of Letters and director of the Department of History of Art and Social History. In May 2011 he was elected rector, and in 2015 he was re-elected.

President of the CRUE Spanish Universities during the period 2017-2019 and previously he was vice president of it.

In 2015 the Ministry of Culture awarded him the National History Prize for his work Catalonia and Bourbon absolutism and he holds the Civil Order of Alfonso X el Sabio.
