Beatriz Elena Charris Mercado

Beatriz Elena Charris Mercado is an educator and innovation consultant with extensive experience in the fields of textiles and engineering. Currently a teacher at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano since July 2021, Beatriz instructs on textile raw materials, quality management for the fashion industry, and colour theory and colouration technology, while also serving as a teacher assistant for engineering principles and project management modules. Previously, Beatriz worked as an innovation consultant for Instituto Nacional de Salud de Colombia and completed an internship at Arcangeles, Inc. as a biomedical engineer, where responsibilities included monitoring medical equipment and report preparation. Beatriz holds a Master of Science in Textiles from the University of Leeds, a diploma in Polymer Engineering from Universidad de Antioquia, a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Universidad El Bosque, and is pursuing Engineering Doctorate studies at Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano.
