Daniel Fernández-Muñoz

Daniel Fernández-Muñoz is an Assistant Professor and Scientific Researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, specializing in operations research and electric power systems since January 2016. Responsibilities include the development of optimization models for generation scheduling and economic dispatch, utilizing GAMS programming for both deterministic and stochastic approaches. Additionally, Daniel is a member of the European Energy Research Alliance and serves as Quality and Risk Manager for the H2020-RESCUER project. Previous roles include Head of the Civil Engineering Department at NIPSA and I+D Engineer at Servicios de Explotación y Gestión Hidroeléctrica S.L. Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering Systems and has completed various advanced programs in business administration and hydraulic energy. Educational credentials span multiple degrees from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and other institutions, emphasizing a strong foundation in engineering and management.
