Viriato Cossa

Viriato Cossa is a PhD student at Malmon DeSIRA, currently working as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane. Formerly, Viriato worked as a Technical Consultant at Iniciativa Priorize, focusing on agricultural support for enhancing farmer production in drylands and climate change adaptation mechanisms. Additionally, Viriato has experience in sorghum breeding at ICRISAT and as a trainee at the International Rice Research Institute. Viriato holds a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy from Universidade Eduardo Mondlane and a Master of Science in Plant Breeding from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Currently, Viriato is pursuing a Doctor of Science degree in Crop Production at Wageningen University & Research.
