Eleanor (Kellie) Stokes has a diverse work experience spanning over 18 years. Eleanor (Kellie) is currently working at NASA as the Earth Information Center Lead, where they connect NASA's Earth information to decision-makers and the public. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Managing Scientist and Lead of Strategic Operations at USRA, where they led Earth science research and application projects. Eleanor also worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center as a Research Scientist, managing grants and leading projects related to remote sensing algorithm development and applications for monitoring land change, disaster response, and urbanization. Eleanor (Kellie) has also worked as a NASA Earth and Space Science Fellow and as an Energy Research Engineer at the Appalachian Energy Center. Earlier in their career, Eleanor worked as an Environmental Designer at Atelier Ten, a Research Assistant at MIT Daylighting Lab, and an Instructor/Outreach Fellow at Auburn University Rural Studio.
Eleanor (Kellie) Stokes holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in School of the Environment from Yale University, which they obtained in the years 2012 to 2018. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2008. Eleanor (Kellie) completed their undergraduate studies at Dartmouth College, earning a BA degree in Math and Studio Art from 2000 to 2004.
