Miriam Deakin

Miriam Deakin is an experienced leader in strategy, policy, and member engagement within the UK health and public sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy, Insight and Member Engagement at Universities UK since August 2025, Miriam previously held multiple roles at NHS Providers from July 2012 to August 2025, including Director of Development and Engagement, where responsibilities encompassed overseeing support for NHS trust leaders and managing significant organizational income. Earlier in the career, Miriam contributed to public service excellence at the Local Government Association and the National School of Government, providing policy advice and developing leadership programs. Educational qualifications include a BA in English and French from the University of Oxford, a Diploma in Management from the University of Greenwich, and an MA in International Studies from the University of Leeds.
