Kristina Schultz-Tanner is an Advanced Clinical Genomics Nurse at the University Cancer & Blood Center since June 2020 and currently serves as President of the Town & Gown Players at Athens Community Theatre. Their extensive nursing background includes experience as a Cancer Genetics Nurse Practitioner at Piedmont Athens Regional from June 2016 to June 2020, and as an RN in Medical and Radiation Oncology at the University Cancer and Blood Center from June 2003 to June 2016. Kristina has also volunteered as a Nurse Practitioner at Mercy Health Center, focusing on patient education for chronic health issues. Early career roles involved staff nursing positions at Athens Regional Medical Center and Baystate Medical Center, specializing in oncology. Kristina holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Simmons University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Nursing from The College of St. Scholastica.

The University Cancer & Blood Center is a facility that combines diagnostic imaging to visualize cancers with therapy to treat them, boosting patient-centered care and providing more individualized care. They will be with all patients every step of the way to explain unfamiliar concepts and help each patient understand what to expect before,during, and after treatment.
