Nicole Ritz

Nicole Ritz has a strong background in paediatrics and infectious diseases. Nicole is currently the Head of Paediatrics and Head of Paediatric Infectious Diseases at Luzerner Kantonsspital. Prior to this, they held the position of Professor of Paediatrics and Infectious Diseases at Universität Basel, where they also served on the selection committee for the antelope career program. Nicole obtained their Venia Legendi (Habilitation) in Paediatrics and Infectious Diseases from Universität Basel. In addition, they have experience as a lecturer at Universität Luzern in the Faculty of Health Science and Medicine. Nicole Ritz has conducted extensive research, serving as the Head of the Mycobacterial and Migrant Health Research Group and Head of the Migrant Health Service at the University Children's Hospital. Nicole has also worked as a consultant in paediatrics and infectious diseases at the same institution. Nicole Ritz has contributed to the field through their role as Editor of the European Journal of Pediatrics at Springer Nature. Nicole has previously held research positions as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and as a Research Fellow at the South African Tuberculosis Vaccine Initiative (SATVI). Nicole Ritz began their academic journey as a PhD Fellow at the University of Melbourne.

Nicole Ritz received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in 2010 from the University of Melbourne. During their time there, their research focused on BCG vaccine strains and their effect on protective immunity against tuberculosis (TB). Before that, Nicole had also pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the University of Bern, but the specific dates or field of study for this program were not provided.
