Maya Heiland has extensive work experience in environmental education and STEM education initiatives. Maya started their career as an Environmental Educator at The Schuylkill Center in 2008 and later held positions such as an Outdoor Education Instructor at The Outdoor School and a Cultural Arts Instructor at the Austin Nature and Science Center. In 2012, they worked as a Youth Education Assistant at Intercity Transit. In 2014, Maya began working at the University City Science Center as the Director of STEM Education Initiatives and also served as a High School Biology Teacher at the Mount Airy Homeschooling Cooperative. Maya has a strong dedication to education and promoting environmental awareness.
Maya Heiland attended Drexel University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology.
