Cheng Dang is a project scientist at UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research, where involvement is focused on the Joint Center for Satellite Data Assimilation since January 2020. Prior experience includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher at UC Irvine from April 2017 to January 2020, where responsibilities involved developing numerical models for the multiple scattering of sunlight in various media and enhancing radiative transfer schemes in the Energy Exascale Earth System Model. Cheng Dang also worked as a graduate research assistant at the University of Washington from September 2011 to March 2017, concentrating on modeling snow albedo and using laboratory techniques to analyze light-absorbing particles in snow. Educational qualifications include a PhD and a Master's degree in Atmospheric Physics and Applied Mathematics, respectively, from the University of Washington, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Physics from Lanzhou University.
