Paul Kucera

Comet/assistant Director For International Capacity Development at UCAR - The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research

Paul Kucera has extensive experience in atmospheric sciences and international capacity development, currently serving as the Assistant Director for International Capacity Development at UCAR since October 2006. Kucera leads initiatives focused on hydrometeorological observation and decision support in developing countries, with a background in project management and scientific research. Previous roles include Project Scientist II, where Kucera contributed to NASA satellite research and weather radar development, and Associate Professor at the University of North Dakota, specializing in radar meteorology and climatology. Kucera holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa, a M.S. in Atmospheric Sciences from Texas Tech University, and a B.S. in Meteorological Studies from the University of North Dakota.
