Barbara Nelsen

Barbara Nelsen, Ph.D., M.B.A., is the founder and CEO of Nelsen Biomedical, a life sciences consulting firm established in 2010, focused on assisting businesses in the life sciences industry with technology commercialization and growth strategies. Nelsen serves as a board member at Anatomi Corp and Regenerative Medicine Minnesota, and as Chair of the Board of Directors for University Enterprise Laboratories, which supports early-stage ventures through comprehensive resources. Additionally, Nelsen is part of the Board of Advisors at Discovery Capital, which provides seed funding for startups based on University of Minnesota innovations. Nelsen co-founded Emerge Bioscience, which offers career development workshops for professionals seeking to transition into non-academic roles, and previously held the position of Associate Director at the University of Minnesota's Office for Technology Commercialization, where significant organizational restructuring was implemented.
