Derek Wong

Derek Wong is an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in revenue cycle management and quality improvement. Currently serving as Director at University Health Partners of Hawaii since March 2007, Derek is responsible for the coding and submission of approximately $43 million in annual charges, as well as managing $20 million in payments and accounts receivable. Previous roles include Revenue Cycle Manager at the Department of Ob/Gyn and Women's Health, where duties encompassed supervising revenue cycle operations and educating staff on coding changes, and Data Analyst, focusing on revenue cycle efficiency. Earlier experience includes clinical research assistance at Kaiser Permanente and serving as a biology advisor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Derek holds an MBA in Healthcare from the University of Hawai‘i - Shidler College of Business, a Master of Public Health from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
