Kevin W. Barron

Deputy VP, Payer Relations at University Health System

Kevin Barron is the current Deputy VP of Payer Relations at University Health System. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Managed Care at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System from June 2015 to January 2016. In this role, they were responsible for the system's corporate portfolio of managed care payor contracts and network participation agreements, worth over $600 million annually.

Barron is a healthcare leader with a wealth of experience in payor relations and managed care. Kevin has successfully advocated for SMHCS membership in the National Institute for Healthcare Leadership's Payor & Market Strategy Group, which includes organizations such as Mayo Clinic, Spectrum Health, Cedars-Sinai Health System, Novant Health, Texas Health Resources, and North Shore-LIJ Health System.

Kevin W. Barron has a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business, as well as an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Kevin is also certified by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) as a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA), and by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Kevin W. Barron reports to George B. Hernández, President & CEO. They are on a team with Ted Day - EVP, Strategic Planning & Business Development, Brian Lewis - VP, Quality & Clinical Outcomes, and Dina Perez-Graham - VP, & Associate Chief Nursing Officer Trauma & Emergency Services.
