Sara Alger

Sara Alger, CFRE, has extensive experience in foundation development and philanthropic leadership. Currently serving as Foundation President at University Health since November 2020, Alger previously held the position of Vice President for Foundation Development at Advocate Aurora Health from 2011 to November 2020, where strategic leadership was provided across multiple hospitals and clinics. Alger successfully directed major gifts programs, capital campaigns, and established key relationships with stakeholders while achieving significant philanthropic revenue growth. Earlier roles included leadership positions at the American Heart Association, where Alger transformed the nonprofit's board and increased corporate commitments. Alger holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from DePauw University.
