Virginia Mika

Deputy VP, Analytics & Community Programs at University Health System

Virginia Mika is the current Deputy VP of Analytics & Community Programs at University Health System. Virginia has over 25 years of experience in the field of healthcare, with a focus on administration and management.

Ms. Mika began their career in 1991 as a Social Science Research Associate at UTHSCSA, where they worked on a variety of health studies. In 2004, they were promoted to Associate Director and oversaw the daily operations of a specialized center including staff management, grant writing, and project management.

In 2010, Ms. Mika left UTHSCSA to take on the role of Executive Director at University Health, where they oversaw a financial assistance program with approximately 55,000 members and a staff of 85. Virginia held this position for 10 years before taking their current position at University Health System in 2020.

They work with Awoala Banigo - SVP, Operations & Chief Revenue Officer, Dina Perez-Graham - VP, & Associate Chief Nursing Officer Trauma & Emergency Services, and Nelson Tuazon - VP & Associate Chief Nursing Officer Adult Services. Virginia Mika reports to George B. Hernández, President & CEO.
