James G. Demetriades

James G. Demetriades, MBA, is CEO of Penn Medicine Princeton Health.

Mr. Demetriades has been with Penn Medicine Princeton Health for 17 years, serving as a key player in some of Princeton Health’s most important milestones over the past several years — a transformative time that included joining the University of Pennsylvania Health System.

In his prior role as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Princeton Health, Mr. Demetriades led the overall system planning and execution process to become part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He collaborated with other senior leaders to execute the Medical Staff Development Plan and served as the management liaison to the Princeton Health Board of Trustees’ Strategic Planning Committee that developed a five-year strategic plan for 2020-2025. In addition to his previous responsibilities for clinical departments and ancillary and support services, he also provided leadership for emergency management at Princeton Health, including the comprehensive work done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic

Mr. Demetriades rejoined Princeton Health (formerly Princeton HealthCare System) as Vice President, Operations in 2010, after serving as Vice President for Trauma and Surgical Services at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading, Pa.

Prior to his tenure at Reading, Mr. Demetriades worked for six years at Princeton Health, progressing from Manager of Contract Management, to Administrative Director of the former University Medical Center at Princeton Surgical Center, to Executive Director of Surgical Services.

He came to Princeton Health from HealthSouth, where he served as Regional Director, Commercial Operations and Managed Care. Mr. Demetriades began his career in healthcare with an administrative residency at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton, Pa.

A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa., Mr. Demetriades earned a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and was valedictorian of Scranton’s Panuska College of Professional Studies. He earned his MBA from the Fox School of Business at Temple University, Philadelphia.

Mr. Demetriades is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Reserve Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Navy.
