Michael Hoerger Ph.D., Mscr

Michael Hoerger, PhD, MSCR, MBA has extensive work experience in the field of psychology, psychiatry, oncology, and palliative care research. Michael started their career in 2013 as an Assistant Professor at Tulane University and later became an Associate Professor in the same institution. In 2016, they served as a Visiting Scholar in Psychiatric Oncology and Behavioral Science at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Since 2018, they have been working as the Managing Director of Palliative Care Research at University Medical Center New Orleans.

Michael Hoerger, PhD, MSCR, MBA has an extensive education history. Michael began their academic journey in 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. Michael then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology at Central Michigan University, completing the program in 2010.

Following their doctoral studies, Michael embarked on a Doctoral Internship in Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry from 2009 to 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology at the same institution from 2010 to 2013, focusing on healthcare decision making.

In 2014, Michael enrolled at Tulane University School of Medicine, where they obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) with a specialization in Clinical Cancer Research in 2016. This academic pursuit deepened their expertise in cancer research and clinical trials.

Continuing their educational journey, Michael attended Tulane University - A.B. Freeman School of Business from 2019 to 2022, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Michael'sMBA focused on Strategic Management and Innovation as well as Marketing, further expanding their skillset in these areas.

In addition to their educational achievements, Michael has obtained several certifications. Michael is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, certified by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. Additionally, they have acquired a Social Media Marketing certification from Stukent, enhancing their knowledge in the field of marketing on digital platforms.
