Matija Zupan

Matija Zupan is an experienced medical professional serving as the Head of the Neurosonology Lab at University Medical Centre Ljubljana since July 2008. As a vascular neurologist and neurosonologist, Matija also functions as a telestroke consultant and researcher. Previously, Matija completed a residency in neurology, gaining hands-on experience in neurological emergency outpatient units and conducting neurovascular research. Matija holds a Dr. Sci. degree in Biomedicine with a focus on neuroscience and clinical orientation, alongside a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree specializing in vascular neurology, cerebral small vessel disease, neurosonology, and acute stroke treatment from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana.
