K. Lee Stone

K. Lee Stone is an experienced leader in environmental health and safety, currently serving as the Executive Director of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since March 2023. Prior to this role, K. Lee Stone worked as the University Director of Research Safety at Indiana University Bloomington from November 2019 to February 2023 and held the position of Laboratory Safety Manager/Chemical Hygiene Officer at IUPUI for over two decades. K. Lee Stone has a strong background in laboratory safety, having managed comprehensive safety programs, performed lab safety inspections, and served as Laboratory Safety Officer in both academic and hospital settings, including managing the imaging research laboratory at the IU School of Medicine and directing the laboratory at Wayne Hospital. K. Lee Stone holds a Master’s degree in Toxicology from Indiana University School of Medicine and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Purdue University.
