Sameer Ather

Sameer Ather serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor, Adjunct Assistant Professor, and Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham since July 2012, specializing in research related to pharmacogenomics and patient care within general cardiology. In addition, Sameer Ather has been a Staff Physician in the division of cardiology at the Birmingham VA Medical Center since September 2015. Sameer Ather co-founded XpertDox in January 2015, a platform dedicated to providing patients with rare diseases access to information, expert medical professionals, hospitals, and peer support. Prior experiences include serving as a Resident Physician at Baylor College of Medicine and King George Medical University, as well as completing an internship at St Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. Sameer Ather holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology from Baylor College of Medicine and an MBBS from King George's Medical University.
