David Wang

Research Technologist (petroleum) at University of Alberta

David Wang is a research technologist specializing in petroleum engineering at the University of Alberta since August 2019, with responsibilities including the design, installation, and analysis of experimental projects, as well as laboratory management and student training. Prior to this role, David Wang worked at PERM Inc. as a core analysis specialist from 2012 to July 2019, where expertise was demonstrated in designing experimental models for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes and analyzing reservoir fluid properties. Additionally, David Wang gained experience as a reservoir engineer during a practicum at Devon Canada Corporation in late 2011, focusing on heavy oil EOR schemes, and served as a research assistant at the University of Calgary from 2008 to 2009, evaluating enhanced oil recovery methods. David Wang holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from China University of Petroleum in Beijing, a Master’s Degree in Engineering Mechanics from Lanzhou University, and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Xi'an Petroleum University.
