Kimberly Bates

Kimberly Bates is an experienced librarian currently serving as the Faculty Engagement Librarian for Business & Education at the University of Alberta since October 2018, where responsibilities include library instruction and research consultations for the School of Business and the Faculty of Education. Prior roles include Learning Manager, overseeing professional development for library staff, and various positions at Edmonton Public Library, where contributions spanned learning and development, community engagement, project management, and digital literacy initiatives. Kimberly's background also includes work as an Independent Consultant, Librarian and Interim Customer Service Manager at Calgary Public Library, Curatorial Administrative Assistant at Vancouver Art Gallery, Gallery Manager at Malaspina Printmakers Society, and Art Rental and Volunteer Coordinator for the City of Burnaby. Kimberly holds multiple degrees, including a Master of Library & Information Science from Western University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Material Culture at the University of Alberta.
