Taniya Birbeck

Taniya Birbeck has extensive experience in health and education, currently serving as the Deputy Faculty General Manager and Director of Postgraduate Medical Education Administration at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry since April 2018. Prior to this role, Taniya held multiple positions at Alberta Health Services, including Area Manager for Allied Health and Primary Care and Chronic Disease Management, as well as serving as an Exercise Specialist from April 2007 to April 2018. Earlier in Taniya's career, experience included supervising the Fitness and Lifestyle Centre at the University of Alberta from 2001 to April 2007. Taniya holds a Master of Arts in Physical Education and Recreation and a Bachelor of Physical Education and Recreation, both from the University of Alberta, along with education from Grande Prairie Regional College.
