Joseph W. Lampo has extensive experience in both the arts and legal fields. Joseph W. began their career as an Associate at Happy, House & Cooling, P.C. in 1978. Joseph W. then moved on to Niewald, Waldeck & Brown, P.C. where they became a Shareholder and Partner, managing complex litigation cases related to the Hyatt Regency Hotel skywalk collapse. Lampo later joined Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton, P.C. as a Shareholder, leading a team of lawyers and staff in asbestos personal injury litigation.
In 1999, Lampo pursued their interest in the arts, serving as a Curatorial Intern at the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas. Joseph W. continued their involvement with the museum as an Acting Assistant to the Director, where they contributed to the planning of special exhibitions.
Lampo then worked as an Attorney Consultant for various law firms, conducting legal research and preparing trial materials. Concurrently, they acted as a Consultant-Curator for the Rockhurst University's fine art collection, researching and cataloging artworks.
From 2004 to 2012, Lampo held various positions at the Arkansas Arts Center, including Deputy Director of Programs and Curator, Interim Director, and Director of Development for the College of Arts, Letters and Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. In these roles, they oversaw artistic and educational programming, provided managerial assistance, and ensured successful financial outcomes.
In 2012, Lampo became an Independent Curator and Consultant in the Arts, offering their expertise in the arts field. Currently, they are the Director of Development for the College of Arts, Letters and Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Joseph W. Lampo has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Missouri-Columbia, earned between 1964 and 1968. Joseph W. also holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins University, completed from 1971 to 1973, and an additional Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Art History from The University of Kansas, acquired between 1996 and 2000. Furthermore, Lampo obtained a Juris Doctor degree in Law from the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Law, spanning from 1973 to 1976. Joseph W. also studied at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) from 1971 to 1973, earning an MA in International Relations.
