Geoffrey J. Hay is a Professor of GIScience at the University of Calgary, focusing on the research program "The Remote Sensing of Urban Energy Efficiency" which utilizes advanced technologies such as Thermal Infrared imagery, Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis, and machine learning to study urban energy efficiency. As a co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of MyHEAT, Geoffrey J. Hay collaborates with the UofC HEAT research team to commercialize their award-winning energy assessment technologies. Previously, Geoffrey J. Hay held positions as an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary from 2005 to 2019. Educational credentials include a PhD in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Landscape Ecology from Université de Montréal, a Master of Science in Remote Sensing from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography from the University of Calgary.
