Ron Kim

Ron Kim leads the finance portfolio for the University of Calgary and is one of two interim vice-presidents for Finance and Services. As interim vice-president, Ron leads the finance unit, ancillary services and the office of the internal auditor.

Ron joined the university in 2021 as the senior associate vice-president (finance) responsible for providing strategic leadership and management in the areas of investments and treasury, financial operations, supply chain management, financial reporting, and finance services.

Ron is a senior finance executive with over 25 years of experience aligning financial strategy to organizational needs. His experience includes leadership positions within various large organizations including Ernst & Young LLP, Suncor Energy and most recently, at Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) where Ron has spent the past 12 years and progressed to Vice-President Finance and Principal Accounting Officer.

Ron is an alumnus of the University of Calgary, holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
