Mingxun Wang

Mingxun Wang serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Riverside since July 2022 and is the Founder of Ometa Labs since April 2018. Previous positions include Postdoctoral Scholar at UC San Diego from July 2017 to June 2022 and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California San Diego from October 2010 to May 2017, focusing on computational mass spectrometry in proteomics, metabolomics, and natural product discovery under the supervision of Nuno Bandeira. Mingxun Wang also held roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Instructor at UCSD, managing programming assignments and teaching bioinformatics courses to undergraduate students. Early career experience includes software development internships at Qualcomm, Nuvixa Inc, and Amazon.com from 2008 to 2010, contributing to high-speed file transfer technologies and mobile digital purchase web services. Mingxun Wang holds a PhD in Computer Science from UC San Diego and a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
