Daniel Enrique Bernal

Daniel Enrique Bernal currently serves as Vice Chancellor for Community & Government Relations at the University of California, San Francisco, where responsibilities include advancing health initiatives and engaging Bay Area communities. Bernal holds a position on the Independent Citizen’s Oversight Committee of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine as the HIV/AIDS Patient Advocate. Previously, Bernal was a Strategic Campaign Consultant for Nancy Pelosi for Congress, contributing to high-revote campaigns, and served as Chief of Staff for Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, overseeing operations and outreach in San Francisco. Bernal also presided over the San Francisco Health Commission, leading public health initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Eight years in the U.S. Department of Education and the Executive Office of the President further underscore Bernal's extensive experience in public affairs and policy. Bernal holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northeastern University and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School.
