Peter Sokolove

Peter Sokolove currently serves as a Professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at UCSF, a position held since September 2013. Peter has held leadership roles including President of the Association of Academic Chairs of Emergency Medicine from May 2020 to May 2021 and President of the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians from 2011 to 2012. Prior experience includes a RWJF Health Policy Fellowship in the United States Senate and significant academic roles at UC Davis Medical Center, including Professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs. Sokolove has also been involved with the Institute of Medicine and the UC Davis Health System. Educational credentials include an MD from Harvard Medical School and a BS in Biology from UCLA.
