Ellen Owens

Ellen Owens, AIA LEED BDC, is a seasoned professional in the architecture and construction sectors, currently serving as the Director of Design & Construction Services at the University of California Office of the President since November 2019. In this role, Ellen leads capital asset strategies for a $30 billion program, emphasizing sustainable infrastructure and inclusive contracting. Previous positions include Interim Director and Associate Director of Design & Construction Services at University of California, San Francisco, and Project and Program Manager at University of California, Berkeley, where Ellen managed various capital improvement initiatives. Additionally, Ellen has a background in project architecture with PSM Architects, Inc. and extensive experience in coaching and developing the Cal Women's Rugby Team. Ellen holds a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Yale University, and multiple certifications from University of California, Berkeley Extension.
