Alexander N. Cartwright currently serves as the President of the University of Central Florida, a position held since April 2020. Prior to this role, Alexander held several key leadership positions, including Chancellor at the University of Missouri-Columbia from June 2017 to March 2020 and various roles at the University at Buffalo, notably serving as Professor and Vice President for Research and Economic Development from August 1995 to August 2017. Additionally, Alexander was the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at The State University of New York from September 2014 to July 2017 and served as Interim President at The Research Foundation for SUNY between January 2015 and June 2016. Alexander N. Cartwright earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Iowa, completing studies in 1995.
