Erik Knudsen

Erik Knudsen is an accomplished media and film practitioner with extensive academic and industry experience. Currently serving as Emeritus Professor and Faculty Director of Research at the University of Central Lancashire since July 2016, Erik specializes in practice-led film research and PhD supervision. In addition, Erik contributes as a Visiting Professor at the Escuela Internacional de Cine y Television (EICTV) and holds the position of Director at One Day Films, focusing on producing quality independent films. Past roles include Professor of Visual and Digital Culture at Bournemouth University and Professor of Film Practice at the University of Salford, alongside leadership positions such as Chair of the Board of Trustees at Square Chapel Centre for the Arts and Head of the Editing Department at EICTV in Cuba. Erik's academic credentials include a PhD in Film from the University of Salford and a BFA in Fine/Studio Arts from York University.
