John McLachlan is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in medical education. Currently serving as the Professor of Medical Education and Head of the Medical School at the University of Central Lancashire since 2015, McLachlan previously held the position of Associate Dean of Medicine at Durham University from 2005 to 2015, overseeing the Undergraduate Medicine Programme. Between 2000 and 2005, McLachlan was the Director of Phase 1 at Peninsula Medical School, where responsibilities included establishing a new medical school in the South West. McLachlan earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Developmental Biology and Embryology from the University of London and a Bachelor's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Glasgow.
