Phil Braithwaite

Phil Braithwaite is an accomplished academic and writer with extensive experience in higher education and freelance writing. Currently serving as a Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire since January 2019, Phil previously held the position of Senior Tutor at Massey University from July 2015 to December 2018. Notable roles also include Ursula Bethell Writer in Residence at the University of Canterbury and Resident Writer at the Michael King Writers Centre. Phil has contributed to the field of playwriting as the William Evans Playwriting Fellow at the University of Otago, where courses were taught in playwriting. Additionally, Phil worked as a Freelance Writer for Radio New Zealand, producing commissioned radio plays. Phil Braithwaite earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Cultural Studies/Critical Theory and Analysis from The University of Auckland between 2014 and 2019.
