Anthony E. Graves is the current Managing Director, Partnerships & Innovation at University of Colorado Denver. Anthony has also held the position of Director of External Affairs, Denver Economic Development & Opportunity at City and County of Denver from July 2013 to July 2020. In this role, they were a senior leader in Denver's economic development agency, managing external affairs strategies across the city's portfolio of economic programs. These programs included Business Development, the Division of Small Business Opportunity (DSBO), Global Business Development, Workforce Development and the Neighborhood Equity and Stabilization Team (NEST).
As part of their role, Anthony led Denver’s Economic Equity agenda for the agency in support of the Mayor's citywide Race and Social Justice Initiative. Anthony also served as a Mayoral Appointee and administered special projects for the Mayor as requested. In addition, Anthony served on the agency's Loan Review Committee (non-voting) for the disbursement of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to small businesses.
Prior to their work at City and County of Denver, Anthony founded GRAVES CIVIC SOLUTIONS.
Anthony E. Graves has a certificate in economic development from the University of Oklahoma College of Professional and Continuing Studies, an MBA in international business from the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business, and a BA in American history from DePauw University. Anthony also has a diploma from Denver East High School. Anthony is certified by the University of Oklahoma College of Professional and Continuing Studies as a Ron Brown Fellow and by the German Marshall Fund of the United States as a Marshall Memorial Fellow (MMF).
