Mark Overmyer-Velazquez

Mark Overmyer-Velazquez is currently the Campus Director for University Connecticut-Hartford. Mark has extensive experience in leadership and management, having served as Chairperson for the Board of Education from December 2013 to December 2016. Mark was also the Founding Director of El Instituto: Latino, Caribbean & Latin American Studies Institute from December 2011 to December 2016. Mark is committed to education and ensuring that all students have access to quality resources and opportunities.

Mark Overmyer-Velazquez is a graduate of Yale University, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy in Theirtory and Latino and Latin American Studies.

They work with Cara Workman - Senior Director, Operations, Office of the President & Director, University Events and Conference Services, Eric Rice - Music Department Head, and Hans Rhynhart - Associate VP, Division of Public Safety. Mark Overmyer-Velazquez reports to Radenka Maric, Interim President.
