Ryan C. Cooper

Ryan C. Cooper, PhD, serves as an Associate Professor-in-Residence in the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Connecticut since August 2016, where the focus is on teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Previous experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, concentrating on next-generation materials for cleaner energy conversion and developing tools to predict aluminum alloy fatigue properties. At Columbia University, significant contributions were made as a researcher in the Small Scale Mechanics Laboratory, utilizing advanced fabrication and measurement techniques for studying atomically thin films.
