Head Of User Experience at University of East Anglia

Carly Sharples has a diverse work experience in the field of library services and user experience. Carly currently holds the position of Head of User Experience at the University of East Anglia since May 2020. Previously, they served as the Head of Library and Learning Support at Norwich University of the Arts from July 2016 to May 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Social Sciences Faculty Librarian at the University of East Anglia from July 2012 to July 2016. Carly also worked as an Academic Liasion Librarian at the University of Worcester from March 2011 to July 2012 and as a Library Assistant at Hereford Cathedral from August 2011 to February 2012. Additionally, Carly worked as a Library Customer Assistant at Gloucestershire County Council from August 2009 to August 2010 and as a Graduate Library Trainee at Corpus Christi College from September 2008 to August 2009, where they conducted a library user survey to inform library policy.

Carly Sharples holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Library and Information Management from the University of the West of England (2009-2011). Carly also obtained a PG Dip in Stage Management from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (2006-2007). Carly's undergraduate studies include a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature from Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd (2002-2005).
