Stephen Blease

Independent Council Member at University of East Anglia

Stephen Blease has a long and varied history in the insurance industry. Stephen began their career with Norwich Union (now Aviva) Insurance Group in 1972 and held a variety of general management roles on the international side of the business. In 2003, they left Norwich Union to join the FSA, where they held management and advisory roles for nine years. In 2012, they joined Inter Hannover as Director and Chief Risk Officer, but left the company two years later to become a consultant for Norwich Business School. In 2016, they were appointed as an independent member of the University Council (Board) at the University of East Anglia, where they currently serve in an advisory role in the Insurance Division of the Prudential Regulation Authority.

Stephen Blease attended the University of East Anglia, where they obtained a European Studies degree, followed by an Honours degree in European Studies.
