Patrick Foster is an accomplished academic and professional in the field of Mining Engineering, currently serving as the Head of Camborne School of Mines and an Associate Professor in Mine Safety at the University of Exeter since September 2000. With a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental aspects of mining, lecture topics include Health & Safety Risk Management, Mine Ventilation, Surveying, and Thermodynamics. Prior to this, Patrick held the position of Director of Education and Health & Safety Consultant at International Mining Consultants Ltd from May 1996 to August 2000, during which time project management and consultancy work were conducted on significant mining projects in the UK and South Africa. Patrick holds a BEng (Hons)/PhD in Mining Engineering from the University of Nottingham, earned between 1989 and 1996, and completed secondary education at Repton School from 1984 to 1989.
