Eric Okanume is currently a Research Assistant at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, focusing on the clinical significance of computed tomography attenuation in patients with vasculitis. With a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minors in Business and Entrepreneurship from the University of Georgia, Okanume has held various leadership roles including Co-Founder and Executive Director of Operations at Mentors on a Mission, External Youth Development Chair for the Black Male Leadership Society, and President of the National Science Foundation Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. Okanume has also contributed to community engagement efforts through roles such as Vaccine Ambassador and Resident Assistant while gaining research experience in multiple capacities, including as an Undergraduate Research Assistant. Additionally, Okanume has a strong commitment to mentorship and outreach, evident in efforts to support minority students in STEM fields.
