Michelle Carter

Michelle Carter serves as the Sr. Director of Talent Management and Chief Diversity Officer at The University of Georgia, a position held since November 2019. In this role, Michelle acts as a strategic partner to executive leaders, guiding talent management strategies for over 230 employees, with a focus on recruiting and retention. Previously, Michelle was the Director of Talent Management and Chief Diversity Officer within the same division, establishing expertise in talent management and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). Earlier in Michelle's career, a role as Area Coordinator at the University of Central Arkansas involved managing a residential community of 1,000 beds and overseeing a team of 45 part-time staff. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and General Science Education, as well as a Master of Science in Counselor Education with a focus on College Student Development, both from Mississippi State University.
