Aleksandr V. Petrov

Aleksandr V. P. is a PhD researcher at the University of Glasgow since October 2021, with a strong background in software development and team leadership. Previously, Aleksandr served as a Senior Software Development Engineer at Amazon, where focus areas included audience segmentation, behavior analysis, recommender systems, and learning to rank. As CTO at E-Contenta, responsibilities included managing a technical team, designing architecture, developing recommendation algorithms, and creating big data solutions. Additional experience encompasses roles as Head of R&D at Data-Centric Alliance, Team Leader of the Big Data Group at Tinkoff Digital, Research Engineer at Mail.Ru, and Software Engineer at Yandex. Aleksandr holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Lomonosov Moscow State University and is pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Glasgow.
